Widespread scientific consensus
Scientists worldwide agree that global warming is happening, and that human activity causes it.
International Panel on Climate Change Assessment Report 5
The IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5), written by a panel of hundreds of climate experts and scientists from member countries of the World Meteorological Organization the United Nations Environmental Programme, plus a team of external reviewers, states unambiguously:
Human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic emissions of green-house gases are the highest in history. […] Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia.

So all these people are wrong and your one report is right. Who knows who paid him off to write it.

As I have said before and I will say it again.

Global warming is true and is happening.

What will not happen is anything to change it.

So piss and moan all you like, nothing is going to happen because humanity is incapable of doing anything about it.

Prove me wrong.  Go do something about it instead of bloviating.

And as we set the record clear, the UN is one of the most corrupt institutions on this planet.  So please refrain from talking about who gets paid off to do stupid nonsense.

All this is and all it has ever been is a power grab by the same people who have always tried to grab power.  History is filled with them pulling the same nonsense.

China is banning traditional auto engines. Its aim: electric car domination

China plans to ban new vehicles powered by gasoline and diesel engines. The implications for the global auto industry run deep. The move is spun as an environmental story. But it's a major economic story as well. China will set a deadline for car makers to stop selling cars that run exclusively on gasoline or diesel fuel. The news was announced over the weekend by Xin Guobin, the country's industry and information technology vice minister.

I was in China in September 2017 and it was mentioned that the goal is to replace the gasoline engine by 2024. Just think by 2024 you might be buying Electric cars made in China.

Should we be taxed on the pollution we create such as a tax on the carbon emissions our cars, home heating, electric power we consume. Will this do anything to curb pollution? Is this a tax grab by greedy governments and just another way to take money from us? Wil this force us a way from cars powered from fossil fuels and switch to electric cars?

The Philippines has announced a six-month closure of the popular tourist destination of Boracay over concerns the island's famous beaches and clear blue waters have been transformed into a "cesspool" due to sustained environmental damage. The closure, which will begin April 26, was announced following a cabinet meeting Wednesday, and would be a "total closure" to tourists, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said. No other information was made available,The decision ends weeks of speculation on the fate of the popular tourist destination, after Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte complained about the state of the island in February.
Boracay, which is around 170 miles south of the capital Manila, is home to as many as 17,000 people, many of whom are directly engaged in the tourism industry, according to CNN Philippines.
"Calamity funds" would be activated to provide financial relief to those affected by the shutdown, Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Menardo Guevarra said, but declined to give a figure.
Untreated effluence
The archipelago nation of the Philippines boasts well over 7,000 islands, and among them Boracay had come to be almost a byword for white-sand beach paradise. But with an influx of tourists that began in the 1980s the island has struggled to maintain its idyllic allure. Last year almost 1.7 million tourists, including a significant number of cruise line passengers, visited the island during a 10-month period, according to the governmental Philippines Information Agency,
Among the problems caused by the island's long-running tourism boom is unregulated development and pipes carrying raw effluence directly into the sea.
In a survey of the island's sewerage facilities, the vast majority -- 716 of 834 -- residential and business properties were found to have no discharge permit and were presumed to be draining waste water directly into the sea, according to a report by the official Philippines News Agency. In February Duterte directly called out the alleged mismanagement of the island, accusing those responsible of turning it into a "cesspool."
"As long as there is shit coming out of those pipes draining to the sea, I will never give you the time of the day (to return)" to the island, said Duterte. A man on a surfboard sells fresh coconut juice to people swimming in the waters off the central Philippine resort island in this shot dated 2005.
Anguish
Residents said that past pleas for help with infrastructure on the island had gone unheeded, and the government's reaction was too harsh.
"We cried for help for all the unfinished infrastructure that causes all these problems," Normeth Preglo Parzhuber, a kiteboarding school owner on Bulabog Beach said
"Now we have to suffer for their mistakes." Others said they were waiting for more details about the planned closure, with a briefing expected by Secretary Roque.
"We have yet to hear the official announcement and details of closure - what will be our role as stakeholders? They said hotels and restaurants will not be closed but they will stop the tourists," said Nenette Aguirre Graf.
Reset
The shutdown is intended to provide an extended period to clean up the island and surrounding seas with the burden for connecting to the sewerage system likely to fall on business owners, Tourism Undersecretary Ricky Alegre.
"We describe (Boracay) as a world class island destination with poor services," Alegre says."And we wish to upgrade the services. We must swallow the bitter pill, and see this solution as one step backward and two steps forward. We want to continue to promote the Philippines as a beautiful destination -- and want to add that our destinations are environmentally compliant."However, the local sentiment had been "clean (but) not close," according to one resident, Civi Civitarese. An unnamed member of the anti-closure Boracay United group said that the island's residents could work to we can rehabilitate, restore and rebuild what was lost and preserve our national treasure" without the need for an extended and costly closure, through "sustainable environmental solutions."
Closing the island to tourism would "severely devastate the lives of over 19,000 workers that will lose everything, while crippling not only Boracay's micro, small and medium enterprises, but the entire country's tourism and reputation across the globe for a very long time," the member, quoted in Boracay United's press release, said. In February, over 50 hotels and restaurants were given notices after failing to comply with the country's water treatment laws, The island, which regularly features on lists of the world's best beaches also plays host to thousands of cruise ship tourists and crew.Prior to the announcement to shutter the resort island, the Department of Tourism said that as many as 18 ocean liners, carrying more than 50,000 passengers and around half that number of crew members, were due to visit the island in 2018.

The take away from this is that we will look after the environment if the monetary return is substantial.

The take away from this is that as long as the right people say anything, they can make you do pretty much anything they want.

Yes, China is mulling the action, but it is more for becoming the leaders in green car technology and not about economic anything:

http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-hy-china-vehicles-20170911-story.html

(Interesting how you visited the same time some of the items you quoted were brought out)

And yes, Boracay is being finally closed by a government that has allowed the place to fester as long as it has... to include giving Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd a $500 million dollar casino there in spite of the sewage problems.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-philippines-environment-boracay/philippines-approves-six-month-closure-of-boracay-tourist-island-from-april-idUSKCN1HB2FC

The take away is that giving government power to solve a problem DOES NOT MEAN the problem gets solved.

What it means is they simply have more power to do as they like.

There is how you link supporting data, refrain from trying to utilize data as your own or I will lock the chain.

RE Micheal ( Mother Earth a living planet Planet )

Post by Dragonmaster on Mon Apr 09, 2018 12:15 pm

Now I got my information from a Philippines newspaper that has a totally different slant that Routers would give. Seeing the this was a staff person writing this news clip seems to have no personal knowledge about the island or the night life on the beach. His description of the sand is sort of right as he got the color right and nothing else.
I have been to Boracay, I walked the beach day and night. I can tell you the beach sand is white and is not granular like sugar but actually as soft and as fine as pastry flour and by the way it makes great sand castles. It is sad they have made the mistakes they have. The closure of the island will have profound economic impact on the 17000 residents of the Island who largely depend on the tourist trade for their lively hood. Take note from your article it only mentions the affected companies would receive financial assistance and not affected individuals.
I know when I was their many years ago some locals and myself were talking about this sewage problem and how it would grow worse as the island developed. This is not new but it has got to the point they finally had to do something.
My comments are based on personal knowledge of the Philippines and its government and the way business is conducted their. The government in the Philippines does business by system of long arm as the locals call it or corruption known as bribery or payouts. Seeing I have been their 9 times since 2000 and I spend a from one to four months per visit. I have some idea what goes on. I do not live in hotels while I am their. I have a small 2 bedroom apartment and yes I have to deal with the Cockroaches. I go to local food market to buy food and groceries. I use public transportation mostly taxis and jitney jeeps, I shop in their malls and I am aware of the black market for money exchange.

Interesting article on china and electric cars that you put forward. I read the article and it is full of misleading information, as well as key information that is left out.
Now china does lead the world in production of green house gasses. What actually concerns the Chinese people is that they can see and cant see. What you can see in china is the smog.
and what you cant see is the sun because of the smog. I was their for 15 days.
Now for argument sake we will say their is 12 hours of day light per day. Their would be 10800 min of daylight and I got to see the sun for 15 min of that time or 13/10000
of my time their that their was daylight.
The idea that car ownership increased by 13 percent is laughable. The truth is that the government allowed the owner ship of cars to increase by 13 percent. Now according to my tour guide
who was a government employee. People enter a lottery and if their name is drawn they get the right to buy a car. So you don't just go into a car dealership and buy a new car just because you want to have one.
Now my take from the Chinese people I was able to talk to like the bellman at the hotel or the hostess at the dinning room was that they just wanted to wake up in the morning and not see smog.
What they would like to see is beautiful sunrise or sunset and if the electric car helps with that. Then that is what they should be moving to as quickly as possible. What I actually heard was they
want the bragging rights that come with being the first country that has a totally green transportation system and by doing so they can show up the west because their political system is better at getting things done.

I find it ironic that you disagree with it... and yet appear in your post prior to mine seem to quote it.

If the Chinese are wanting bragging rights to being the first to do it.  They really should not focus on the US but on France and Brazil.

Both have been leading the charge for going green longer then anyone else.

Brazil with biofuels has already done it:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol_fuel_in_Brazil

and France with Nuclear...

http://www.world-nuclear.org/information-library/country-profiles/countries-a-f/france.aspx

which of course many do not give credit for being clean because Nuclear is not liked.

I did not say they are focusing on an the US. That is a conclusion you jumped to. Not every country wants to be like the US as far as China goes I think they just want to show they are better than the rest of the world and become global leaders. They would love to show the rest of the world just how much better their political system is than everyone Else's.

More to the point... they have already failed by your words.  I threw out US as a red herring and enjoyed watching you bite.
The only thing... once again your words, allowing them to think they could as near as last September think they could... is through sheer ignorance of the subject.  Brazil did this back in 2014.

I am sick of this!

WHY are authorities sucking people into the ridiculous idea that Co2 is bad? Plants require it! More Co2, equals more pressure, more plants, more oxygen, more pressure. More pressure? Higher oxygen concentration, lower down because of pressure. Larger plants, insects, other creatures... longer and healthier lives.

Global warming is garbage. Call it “climate change “, demonize people who question it and brainwash young people to think humans are causing it. CLIMATE CHANGE has been cyclic for Earth’s known history, yet carry on.

I used to fly the flag for the cause, for all the big super powers who fight like cats and dogs in front of the “little people”, yet shake hands like good friends over oil deals. Celebrities who criticize Co2, yet own personal jets. I used to tow the party line and one day, I woke up and smelled the sewage.

With great pride I now say, fuck the establishment, fuck globalism, fuck fake science and long live the truth, for it truly does set us free.

As it pertains:

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/04/180405140946.htm

Nitrogen, which is what is needed to absorb the excess CO2 has just recently been found to not only exist within the atmosphere... but in the ground as well.

So really... this is being steadily debunked as true as time goes by.

Once again, mother nature doing what man can only convince you it can (but never can really do it).

What does NASA say about it?

I know that Venus is named after the Goddess of love and beauty. It is considered to be Earths "sister planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to the Sun, and makeup. But it is radically different from Earth in other respects. It has no people because it has the densest atmosphere consisting of more than 96% Co2. The Co2 rich atmosphere generates an incredible runaway greenhouse effect that creates surface temperatures of more than 864 °F! Pressure at the surface is 92 times that of Earth, or roughly the pressure found 3,000 ft underwater on Earth!!! A toasty and Bitey planet for us!!

Rather difficult, since I do not believe in space aliens and Venus is just a blurry blob in the sky.

Playing along with VV here.  The term was not space aliens but aliens... and after making a population of 2 on Venus... anything which came after would be alien to the planet.

Second coming of the amazon race... just stay away from bow usage... rather disturbing what the prior amazons did to facilitate that.  Rolling Eyes

Thanks Micheal, you are right. Once the empire is established any newcomers would be Aliens. I don't think I will be mutilating my body for the sake of the bow either so put that to bed!

Mortox, so by blurry blob I guess you mean we might have difficulty getting there? Maybe true but I will contact Elon Musk and see if we can borrow one of his pretty rocket ships! He is an interesting guy and I think he would jump at the chance to sponsor us as we setup a new Ama-netian empire on Venus! Hell he put his car in space, why not a new race of Venetian Amazons!!!

A street legal Tesla Roadster in the vacuum of space? Anything other ridiculous fairytales are you’d like to sell me before the day is out?
Also, before we get to Venus, let’s take a trip to Area 51 to see the pretty Moon craters!
