It amuses me VV how you huff and puff at DM, but Luciana walks in and you are soft as a kitten. Someone has a crush.  Very Happy

Luciana, you eloquently express what I was trying to previously. Habit 1 of 7 in Covey's book is defining what is valuable to the individual, and all time management flows from that. So, priorities follow passion, and that is why I said previously that it is impossible for me to answer the question for someone else.

VV, your approach of "calling out" DM as a challenge, an invitation to share more has proven ineffective. All you got was defensiveness as a response. Not everyone is aroused by that method, even if you are.

Okay - it's always interesting to hear what your motives are, when you go on one of your hunt-and-destroy campaigns Wink

Let's look at the building blocks you're working with:

1) The pursuit of excellence
2) Serving the self
3) Serving others

So:

1) We pursue excellence in that which we prioritize (for the Sith, our Passion)
2) We serve the self, for it is the self that facilitates the pursuit of Passion (one cannot excel if one is too weak/ sick/ drained etc to do so).
3) We serve others when we become leaders in our communities. To lead is ultimately to serve (Not talking about rulership or kingship or dictatorship or anything else here - leadership.)

You've a natural tendency towards leadership Vixen, so it doesn't surprise me that you include this as an automatic "of course Dark-siders do this" response. But not all Dark-siders are leaders. (Although Sith tend to be. The accumulation of Power does tend to produce followers).

In this instance I can see how you would be put off that DM is not exhibiting much care towards the third point - but as you can now see too, that would not indicate a lack of interest in excellence, so much as a lack of interest in leadership.

VixensVengeance wrote:I have been studying intently and have begun to see much of the deeper meaning I think you intended to convey in pursuing power for powers sake versus pursuing power to intimidate or control others.

Oh, interesting - you will have to update me about your new insights.

VixensVengeance wrote:My pursuit of passions has gone from this incoherent massive list to 4 specific things to 3 generally defined concepts. Those concepts are forming a triangle for me now and I am trying to further refine those.

That was good to see, and I'll look forward to seeing further refinements.

Excellent. I assume not everyone is familiar with the Habits in Covey's book. It may be worth posting them in a separate topic, so you can discuss them and reference the link to others next time you refer to them. That will probably cut through a lot of the baggage and get us straight to the point faster next time.

Carry on, Darklings...

If I took the call I would have had to talk to him. I probably saved a few minutes. I had a 3 PM appointment at another business  but in the same area. The time saved allowed me to get my watch picked up and also make it to my 3 PM appointment on time.

What I get from this is that you are good at defining priorities. So, what are your current priorities? why are you here?

Dragonmaster wrote:Manu I see you have two questions.

Question 1: What are your current priorities?

Priorities are my health, wealth management, Savings, home maintenance, trip to Philippines, trip to Europe and enjoying life.

Question 2: Why are you here.

I was asked to join Force Realist Academy by Thirty Three. I have no clue why Thirty three wanted me to join this group.

I have no clue what I am expected to do here. I have no clue what am expected to get out of this or what my contribution

should be or what my contribution is expected to be.

I had no idea what this was about who was here or how anything works in here, I just go looking around hoping to find

something interesting. I guess you were just unlucky as I found you and your topics were worth looking at.

Lucky, not unlucky. We grow from your input.

Who is Thirty Three, and why would you follow his instructions to come here? Do you participate in other forums?

The general idea of this place is that it is a space in which we can socialize and cross-examine what we are doing in life, why, and how to get it done. I admit you've caught us still in our infancy.

You mention among your priorities "enjoying life". What brings joy to your life?

DragonMaster refers to me, Manu. "Thirty Three" is a nick name I go by with him.

I have secrets to keep and giving up secrets has consequences and do not bother asking what the consequences are.

Well I cant really know that either way but in any case you both have the uncanny habit of posting on the board just to state that you have nothing to say. Laughing

And yet you do care for you continue to return to it.
If you really wish it dropped, why not just drop it on your own?
